ACORUS - ENEOR - Metrology
Metrology

For our audits, commissioning assignments and measurement and verification plans, we rely on 22 measuring instruments of our own. Each measurement is taken and interpreted by an engineer who is the lead expert on the subject: proof through field measurement.

Electrical

Depending on the installation, electrical measurements require specific authorisations (high and low voltage). Our team includes engineers authorised to work on main low-voltage switchboards and distribution panels.

  • Electrical network analyser
  • Clamp ammeter
  • Multimeter
  • Electromagnetic radiation detector

Thermography, inspection and drone

Thermal imaging camera, thermal bridge detector, inspection camera, thermowell probe, tachometer and drone for aerial thermography are used in a wide range of studies:

  • Characterisation of the building envelope
  • Main switchboards and electrical panels
  • Boilers
  • Underfloor heating
  • Hydraulic and ventilation networks

Airflow and fluids

Balometer, Pitot tube and airflow and turbulence measurement for flow rates; compressed air leak detection; combustion analyser to check boiler room efficiency (net and gross calorific value) and the tuning of pollutant emissions.

CH4 + 2 O2 -> CO2 + 2 H2O

Following the combustion analysis, we recommend corrective actions to optimise energy efficiency and pollutant levels of the installation: boiler, internal combustion engine.

Comfort and air quality

Our comfort analyses follow ISO 7730 and ISO 7243, using our own instruments: globe thermometer, air quality probe (CO2), thermo-hygrometer, lux meter and data loggers (temperature, humidity, CO2).

By recording and analysing all of the parameters which affect the comfort of occupants, we are able to recommend corrective actions so that our customers are able to achieve an optimum level of comfort. The parameters studied are:

  • Operating temperature
  • Residual air speed
  • CO2 level
  • Lighting, brightness

Statistical parameters such as:

  • PPD: % of dissatisfied people
  • PMV: predicted average vote (the average value of votes from a large group of people on a 7-point heat perception scale)
  • WBGT (Wet Bulb Globe Temperature): Calculation of the heat stress index.
  • PHS (Predicted Heat Strain): described by standard ISO 7933, this method provides a more precise approach than the previous methodology
